Google Opal is NUTS.

It’s the AI agent software you’ve been waiting for.

Not a stitch of code anywhere.

Most of the common functions you’d want – deep research, searching the web, basic tool handling.

It has most of the basic outputs you’d want – docs, sheets, and slides.

And most of all, it has the ability to connect to existing assets, like YouTube, your Google Drive, etc.

The limitation of this software is going to be:

1. Your imagination and ideas
2. Your prompting skills

That’s it. If you can think it, you can build it in the easiest drag and drop interface that I’ve seen for agents. This beats Zapier, Make, and n8n.

Does it have the power of those tools? Absolutely not.

But it’s a great gateway to building agents within the Google ecosystem that is fast, simple, and straightforward.

Here’s an example I built in Opal in literally 2 minutes of dragging, clicking, and typing:

1. Get the transcript from a YouTube science video.
2. Do a Deep Research project to figure out what gaps the video might have.
3. Build a lesson plan for a teacher to teach it over 3 days.
4. Build a video for key points for the kids to watch.
5. Build an audio overview for the kids to consume.
6. Create a lesson plan document.
7. Create a slide deck.

Two minutes. That’s it.
