In today's episode, Edgar asks, how can AI help create content when time is limited? Well, that's a big vague question. If you do the prep work properly in advance before time is limited, AI can very capably create lots of content at scale. That's pretty good and will help you in a pinch. But note that I said if you do the prep work, you can't just wing it.

So what you here's what you should absolutely not do. Say, oh, I have 10 minutes before I have to meet my deadline. Chat GPT, write me a blog post about B2B marketing. You're gonna get slop. You're gonna get boring, unoriginal, pointless slop.

That's not going to do you any good, it's not gonna do your brand any good, it's not gonna make anybody happy. If you do the prep work, kind of like you know, uh a chef and a sous chef doing all the prep work on the chopping and the cutting and the you know the parboiling and all that stuff well in advance of when the restaurant rush the restaurant's rush hour starts. You will do fine. You'll be able to create great food and not uh uh turn out literal slop. So, what does that prep work look like for content creation so that you are ready to go when time is limited?

That means things like gathering original research and putting it into a database that you can find quickly. That means building out your ideal customer so you know who you're writing the content for. That means defining your writing style and your writing style guide and having a writing style guide. That means probably having a sales playbook on hand so that you know what's for sale and how to how to cleverly weave your content to things that your company actually cares about, outcomes you care about. That means having your brand style guidelines already written out, and you would treat these things like ingredients on the line at a short order cook restaurant line, right?

So you have the parboiled fries ready to go in the fryer, you have the vegetables all chopped, you have the meat all marinated and ready to go straight on the grill. When time is short, then you say, okay, burger with uh lettuce tomato, hold the mail, uh, put ketchup on, and uh fries with uh uh with Cajun spice, right? And you can slap that together really fast and it will still be good because you did all the prep work, but you have to do the prep work, you cannot skip the prep work, and that requires not limited time. That requires time to think, time to be thoughtful, time to uh um build all that extra uh preparatory content so that you can say, okay, we're gonna be putting together a YouTube script uh that's 10 minutes long, that is about this, this, and this. Let's get ready to go.

And you've already got the ingredients. I'm gonna take out the ICP, I'm gonna take the sales playbook, and take the writing style guide, I'm gonna take the the brand guidelines, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Short order cook create cooks the meal, serves the meal, uh, and and you create that content. If you don't do that, if you don't do the prep work, then you are gonna create literal slop. And no one wants that.

So please do the prep work. Then AI is really good at creating pretty good content when you do the prep work properly. So it's a complicated question, but the answer is like cooking, get as much done in advance so that when it's time to cook, you can take the stuff that you've prepared and and get it out the line really fast. Thanks for the question. Talk to you on the next one.
