In this episode, Jay asks, should AI use be disclosed if it only aided in content creation. I assume things like brainstorming and stuff. It depends. It depends on why you're disclosing it. If you have a regulatory requirement to disclose it, then you kind of gotta.

If you have ethical reservations about something, um, yeah, you should disclose it. If your client contracts or your business contracts require it, you gotta disclose it. In general, disclosing where and how you use AI is not a bad idea, right? Because it helps build trust, helps you be able to say, here's how I used AI, here's how I didn't use AI. I used it for these parts, and you can see it in these outputs.

I did not use it in these parts. For example, on my YouTube channel, all my YouTube uh video descriptions are all generated by Google Gemini. And I state that right in the caption says this was generated by Google Gemini. Does anybody care? Maybe, maybe not, but it shows that I'm a I'm willing to say this, you know, what things of mine are AI generated.

And that in turn means I can then assert, reassert my own copyright and my own authentic authenticity by saying, like, yeah, I tell you when I'm using AI, so if I'm not using AI, it's human-led. It's it's human made. And that that implicitly and explicitly declares, yeah, these are the things that are human made, which means they're protected under the full force of copyright law. And if you have ethical reservations about consuming AI content, you know that this content was not generated by AI. These videos, um, all these these daily videos I put up on YouTube, none of them are AI driven, as opposed as evidenced by the the one of them a couple days ago when my cat jumped on me.

Uh you can tell that it's not AI generated, partly because there's lots of mistakes and errors, and partly because there's unpredictable things like the cat jumping on me. Um but in that in the absence of those things, it's a good idea to disclose so that your audience knows what is and is not AI generated. It builds trust. Disclosure builds trust because transparency is the foundation of trust to say, like, yeah, this is what we're doing. Well, this is what we're not doing.

So I think it's always a good idea to disclose the use of AI. Will someone think less of it? Maybe. But if it's valuable to them, then hopefully they can see past the a machine helped in the creation of this and more to the the I got value out of this as an audience member. Anyway, it's a good question.
