In today's episode, Noble asks, how do we move past generic prompts for coaching and lead generation? They say, I'm testing lead generation prompts for coaching niches. We notice that basic prompts like write a lead magnet are giving us total fluff. Moving past generic cloud prompts for coaching coaching specific lead gen, how do we do it? Well, of course you're getting generic fluff.

That's a generic prompt. No offense, but that that's that's awful. Um it depends on you, it depends on your sales methods, it depends on your lead generation methods. What's missing? Well, there's two things that are missing here.

Number one, uh, the prompt itself is not great, right? The prompt itself has no specificity to it whatsoever. Imagine you were hungry and you wanted to cook something and you said make food. What are you gonna get? GRUL is it fits the answer to that that prompt, right?

Of make I'm hungry make something. Uh if you you're like, okay, well, great, you know, that could be filet mignon, that could be gruel, that could be you know, soylent green. Um is it so the prompt is not great? Second, is you have to tailor these things to your business specifically. If you make a lead magnet or a uh you know a lead generation tool some kind, and it doesn't align with your business or how you do things, of course it's gonna be generic, and of course it's gonna be unsatisfactory.

So, how do you do business? Right? How do your when you have inbound sales, you know, from a lead magnet and a business development representative or an SDR or a AE or whatever you're how whatever your process is, um what questions do they ask? How do they sell? Your most successful salespeople, how do they sell?

Right? What do they say when they're on the phone with prospects? If you can answer those questions and you know what works for your audience, what gets them to buy from you? Talk to your staff, interview them. Say, tell me what the most, you know, look at your most successful salesperson, look at the the most lucrative deals that they've they've done, and say, tell me how you did this, right?

You you're obviously successful, you're obviously a winner. How do you answer people's questions? All of that information from that person about how they win deals, how they win business, that is something that you then hand to your AI and say, help me write a lead generation script or code or landing page or whatever for our business based on these transcripts. And instead of getting slop, which is what you're getting now because you have a terrible prompt, um, you're going to get something that is tailored to your business because it is derived from the most successful people in your business and how they sell and what they sell. You will never, you will never get good performance out of AI if you just give it a prompt like write a lead magnet.

You're of course it's generic, of course it's terrible. If I told you to do that and I didn't give you any information about my business, you'd be like, a lead magnet for what exactly? How you know, how do you how do you even get leads? So by the do they call you, do they write to you? What's what's the deal here?

So you need to invest the time and the effort to get that data from your sales team to say, this is how we win. This is how we win. And I promise you, if you do that, if you take those steps to dig in and really understand how you win, you will generate landing pages and copy and email campaigns that are downright magical. So when someone says, you know, uh, when someone goes to your landing page, they they look at it and go, wow, this is for me. Someone really wrote this out.

And this is exact this is exactly the problems I have. I can't wait to talk to you. I can't wait to call you because you know my problems. Right? A lead magnet's not gonna solve that.

Right, a lead magnet tells you nothing. Think of AI prompts like recipes, right? I'm in the midst of making uh tofu kimchi stew. I would never say to someone, oh, make some tofu kimchi stew, right? That's a terrible recipe.

Um I would say we need to make it with uh a fish and and protein-based broth, we need to have uh tofu, we need to have some good kimchi, we need to use the kimchi brine in it, we need to do all these things. The recipe is needs to be specific, right? How much of everything? When what are the order in which you put things in? That's what belongs in a prompt.

If I also, if I have a recipe and I have no ingredients, right? I have no pork, I have no mushrooms, I have none of this stuff. If I don't have that, it doesn't matter how good the recipe is, you ain't eating because you have no food. So your data, this is data, right? Your ingredients are data.

You need to have data in addition to the recipe. In addition to the prompt to make it work. If you don't do that, you have no food. You got nothing. So that's the answer.

That's why it's not working for you. It's not working for you because you are giving it a terrible recipe and you're not providing it any ingredients. And of course, and then you're going, Why am I hungry? Because you didn't do any of the basics. So do the basics.

Uh, if you want more information about this, go to trustinsights.ai. You can find our mastering prompt engineering course on there, and it will walk you through like how do you build good prompts, and then how do you get the data to go with those prompts? So that's the answer. Thanks for the question. Talk to you on the next one.
