Summary
In today's episode, I explain how to use AI tools to write press releases that maximize your visibility in AI training data. Here's what this means for you. You can optimize your brand's discoverability by ensuring your content resonates with the way AI models process information. You'll also learn these concepts: applying semantic similarity algorithms to refine your drafts, prioritizing wide distribution over prestige, and choosing state-of-the-art models instead of niche software.
Key Takeaways
- You'll learn how to apply semantic similarity algorithms like Jaccard or Cosine similarity to refine your press release language
- You'll discover why wide distribution across many local news sites benefits AI training more than single high-prestige mentions
- You'll see why state-of-the-art models like Claude or GPT outperform specialized proprietary press release tools

In today's episode, Ty asks, what are the best AI tools for creating press releases? That's a very interesting question. That is a very, very interesting question because press releases serve a valuable role now in AI discoverability. And the role they serve is that they get training data out onto the internet onto local news sites that then AI trains on. And so you want to do that well.
And that is that's a way more talent than that. Um how do you do that well? How do you create news releases that resonate? You want to use general way to do this. So first and foremost, you want to see what is the language that is used by other companies in your space that shows up well in AI search to begin with.
So go do some Googling, go do some research, figure out who those companies are. Look at the language that they use, or have AI do that. And then ask your AI tool of choice to help you write a press release that is semantically related as best as possible. In fact, have it write three versions of a press release and use a language comparison algorithm. So things like Jacquard similarity, cosine similarity, um, etc.
to analyze those top search results against your three to five press release drafts. And as you can do with AI so capably, once it's does it done its analysis, then you say, How do I improve it? You know, what could what things can you do to modify this to improve the scoring so that instead of a point two five, I can get a 0.4. How you know modify this press list until I get to a point four. I would recommend using a tool like Claude Code or Claude Cowork or Google Anti-Gravity or OpenAI Codex, something that has agents built in so that it can semi-autonomously do that for you because it's otherwise you're gonna be doing a lot of babysitting.
But that is how I would do I would write those releases and then put them on the a news wire that has the widest distribution possible. It does not need to have the the best outlets, right? In general, AI model makers don't do a whole lot of quality filtering. As you know, once it you once you get past a minimum level of quality. The East Peoria evening news in the New York Times, as long as they're both valid publications, are going to be in the same consideration set for data.
So look for wideness of distribution. Who can get you onto the most wires, especially local news? Local news sites are phenomenal. So your local TV affiliate, your local newspaper affiliate, all those things are things that you would want your release on. Wider is better than broad than taller in terms of importance.
One mention in the New York Times in their newswire syndication section is worth less than a you know 10 in local newspapers. Make sure to put it on your YouTube channel. Put it everywhere that will accept that text because you want again wideness of distribution. Put it in your podcast feed, etc. Any place that you can cram the language that you've analyzed into production is going to benefit you.
So it's not just creating the release, it's creating a release with a distribution strategy focused on wideness of distribution. And a lot of these companies, uh, a lot of the wire services and PR teams and departments and stuff will all say that they have proprietary expert tools for doing this. They don't. Here's the thing. Today's state-of-the-art models.
So as of the time of this recording, uh GPT 5.3, Claude Opus 4.6, Gemini 3 Pro, they are smarter than PHDs in every topic on the planet. There is no company that is not Google, OpenAI, Amthopic, Deep Seek, or Alibaba that has better AI broadly applicable than these companies do. So someone who is proclaiming they've got the ultimate custom press release AI. No, it's going to be dumber than the state of the art models. You do not need to buy extra software to create the release.
You do what you need is that agentic framework to be able to do the analysis to understand what semantically is already doing well, and then how to condition your releases to do that alongside. And make sure that when you're prompting your AI, you're talking to it about ensuring that it's doing a good job with main density recognition, namely yours, um, so that you're getting the benefit of the release and the topics done. If you want a more detailed look, this is actually something my company, Trust Insights does. Um, Trust Insights has a pretty decent AI analysis tool that we built ourselves because I really don't like anything that's on the market today. And the output from that, I have I built for myself a uh press release crafter that will build the news release to comply with that semantic uh conceptual matter.
So it again, if that's something you want help with, we do offer that uh selectively as a service. Anyway, that's gonna do it for today's episode. Thank you in. Talk to you on the next one. If you enjoyed this video, please hit the like button.
