/export
That’s the magic command that makes your prompts in AI CLI coding tools reproducible.
At the end of a significant chunk of work in a tool like Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenAI Codex, Qwen Code, etc., type /export and it will dump the chat history to a text file. If you came up with some really cool prompts you want to remember, this is the fastest and easiest way to keep track of them without having to manually copy them down.
Here’s the power move:
Once you’ve exported them, clean them up, then if they’re reusable, turn them into agents or skills. Then the next time you want to repeat that process, you just need to invoke the relevant agent or skill.
Never let a good prompt go to waste!
