In this week's Do Something with Your Marketing, you'll notice something a little bit different. I'm recording inside of a Google Hangout, and the reason for that is that I want to encourage you to do more with the tools you already have. A lot of people, a lot of customers, a lot of everybody that watching are going out and just buying point solutions for everything. Like I need us uh something that can put captions on my videos, and something can do this, can do that. I would bet you that at least one of the features that you have inquired about and possibly purchased uh an extra service for is built into a service that you already have and are probably already paying for.
So this week's do something with your marketing is please read the manual, see what's possible. Now, why am I recording this inside of a Google Hangout? Well, the answer is uh a lot of people wanted to figure out how do I put captions inside of my videos. You absolutely can buy a whole bunch of software services that will do this, but in Google Hangouts, I'm gonna click on the bottom of the screen here. I'm gonna turn on captions, and what it does, of course, as you can see right here on the screen, it transcribes your what you're saying in real time.
Now, if you were to use a screen recorder like Camtasia, for example, which is what I'm recording this in, uh, and just limit out your video to a square around the the screen here. Guess what? You've now closed captioned your videos for Instagram for YouTube for whatever, and it's it's hard-coded into the screen, so you know it doesn't require any special extras, it's just right there. So, take a look at the software that you're already using. What can it already do?
What features are built in? Maybe it doesn't have the the best uh manual or whatever, but you can Google for it. Say, how do I do you know closed captions with Google Hangouts, closed captions with Google Meet, closed captions with Instagram. If you're for example, if you're using the the uh iOS, the Apple uh iPhone, and you want to put closed captions uh or you know, subtitles or whatever you want to call them uh on your videos. Apple put an app on here called Clips that lets you do exactly what Google Hangouts is doing right here, uh, which is put live captions right in your video.
No need to pay for an additional service, it's built right in. You save the video to your your phone, and then you can go straight to Instagram. So please check to see if the software that you've already paid for that you're using on a regular basis has the features that you want. That's this week's do something with your marketing. As always, please subscribe to the YouTube channel and to the newsletter.
