I'll give you an explanation of what this means because it sounds really funny. I was, and I told this story in the uh the Trust Insights newsletter this past week, but it bears repeating. I was scrolling through uh Instagram uh last week while I was uh I was just laying in bed at in the in the hotel and I scrolled by this ad from Lego and it was hilariously funny. It was uh a little Lego like uh airport gate, right? The you know when you're sitting at the gate waiting for your plane, and they had a little Lego gate agent and some Lego people standing around, and the gate agent comes on and says, ladies and gentlemen, uh flight something something uh encountered a slight delay uh because the um the the child has a child has pulled the wings off of the plane. You know, this is Lego, so haha, it's pretty funny, you know. Our kids do that. Also for those seated in Economy Plus, uh Economy Plus is no longer available. Uh the child has removed Economy Plus and uh instead attached a garbage truck there, which again hilariously funny because my kids did that with their Legos too. Um the the skit went on for another you know 30 seconds or so. It was just really, really funny, really well done. And as I was laying there in bed, like I want to share this. This is funny. And I couldn't share the ad because you you can't do that on Instagram. So I went to YouTube, checked out the you know, typed in the the uh reasonable search, gray, couldn't find it. And it was at that point when I was like, what a missed opportunity. The fact that this company got a consumer, got a consumer of their ad to be so entertained by it that the consumer wanted to share it, give them free marketing by being willing to reshare it unprompted. It was so good, and yet there was no way to do that. It was simply not available, and uh even now I'm telling you about it, but I have no place to send you to it to help you find it. Now they may have put it up since then, but what a missed opportunity out of the gate to not be able to say, yes, if you like this ad, this ad entertained you, amazing, thank goodness. We'll keep that agency. Uh please share this ad. So I would urge you in your own marketing, if you've created marketing content, whether it's advertising, whether it's informational, it doesn't matter, but if you created something that is actually getting responses that it people are willing to share unprompted, please, please, please, please make it available. Give people the ability to share it easily, because it will just bear huge rewards. Our hardest part most of the time as marketers is getting anybody to do anything, to pay even the slightest bit of attention. So on those rare times when we actually land, see when we stick the landing, and we don't have handles so that someone can pick it up and move it around and give it to their friends. What a missed opportunity. So in your own marketing, please audit it. Please put it as part of your your launch checklist for any kind of marketing. Have we made this as easy to share as possible? Have you created a custom domain name for it? Or at least a a short link? Uh are there social media buttons? Is there you know, email this to a friend? Is there s or are there any any possible way that you can to make your content more shareable? Please do so. It will it will be not much more effort and a whole lot of potential return for those rare times when you just land, stick the landing, when you just hit out hit it out of the park. So that's this week's do something with your marketing. Please, please make your good content shareable. As always, please subscribe to the YouTube channel and to the newsletter, and I'll talk to you soon. Want help solving your company's data analytics and digital marketing problems?
