My apartment got broken into about 10 years ago. The strangest thing they took? My husband's pillow. The rest was of little to no value, except for nostalgia (and a Kodak Brownie camera--but really, where would the thief find film?!).

But the pillow was expedient: it provided a bag into which they dumped everything else. We don't even remember most of what else they took, but the pillow was *personal.* ;)

I'm with Lynette on this one.
"...rifling through workout clothes, possibly holding their nose the entire time, only to come away with lingering gym bag odor and not much else. Sucker!"

You underestimate the power of your influence, all the stalker wanted was a sweet sniff. Once they got their sniff, they continued on with their day. Hey everyone runs of different fuel. :)

Sorry this happened to you, Chris. I never leave ANYTHING in my car, even stuff that is not of value, because I am afraid that people will THINK it's valuable. I can imagine someone smashing a window to remove my empty cloth grocery bags. Crazy. At the same time, I have been the victim of people smashing into my parked car and not leaving a note. Pretty sad.

I had that happen to me a couple of years ago. Only I had a few things of some importance including a removable CD player, CDs and some odds and ends.

Sad thing is, they only took the change in the center console but left the CD player, CDs and all the rest of the knick-knacks.

It was that day that I learned my taste in music is incongruent with the thieving sort. Very glad to hear they didn't get something of any value from you, Chris.

About 6 or 7 years ago I had a smash and grab happen in a movie theater parking lot. They got off with a work laptop and an external cd-rw drive. Insurance covered the replacements so it wasn't a major issue. The biggest thing I was upset about was my laptop bag, it was a gift from my wife and have never really found an exact replacemnt.
