My apartment got broken into about 10 years ago. The strangest thing they took? My husband's pillow. The rest was of little to no value, except for nostalgia (and a Kodak Brownie camera–but really, where would the thief find film?!).

But the pillow was expedient: it provided a bag into which they dumped everything else. We don't even remember most of what else they took, but the pillow was *personal.*

You underestimate the power of your influence, all the stalker wanted was a sweet sniff. Once they got their sniff, they continued on with their day. Hey everyone runs of different fuel.

Sorry this happened to you, Chris. I never leave ANYTHING in my car, even stuff that is not of value, because I am afraid that people will THINK it's valuable. I can imagine someone smashing a window to remove my empty cloth grocery bags. Crazy. At the same time, I have been the victim of people smashing into my parked car and not leaving a note. Pretty sad.

I had that happen to me a couple of years ago. Only I had a few things of some importance including a removable CD player, CDs and some odds and ends.

Sad thing is, they only took the change in the center console but left the CD player, CDs and all the rest of the knick-knacks.

It was that day that I learned my taste in music is incongruent with the thieving sort. Very glad to hear they didn't get something of any value from you, Chris.

Home invasions in our neighborhood are on the rise. Last month someone stomped the hood and windshield of our 1993 Saturn. Yes. A 1993 Saturn – with duct tape on the windows to help keep leaks from getting in. What a dark world we live in. Glad I have a dog who barks a lot.

The same thing happened to me about 7 years ago down by Fenway Park. I had the same laugh over some jerkoff digging through my sweaty running clothes in my gym bag. Even better, I had two laptops in the trunk that had Oracle installed on them, about $10,000 worth of hardware that they couldn't get to.

The only thing that sucks is that (just like when my $100 GPS was stolen last year) the window costs more than the stuff in it. It makes me wonder if I'd be better off taking everything out of the car and not leaving it locked.

Glad they got nothing of value but yes it is a little bit of justice that they got NOTHING out of this.
