Excellent reference to The Tipping Point - definitely one of the must-read books for anyone with a story to tell or a product/service to promote. The trick is convincing people to take the time to participate in the conversations with Connectors (and those who might one day become Connectors), instead of just tossing things against the wall and hoping they'll stick.

Enjoy your posts. Yes, there will continue to be interruption based marketing for a long time, because it's necessary. Since I've become to learn more about inbound marketing, and trying to build some traffic to my site & blog, I've settled on twittdeck. Here, I'm capturing posts for about 6 keywords, and engaging about half of the people (non-spammers), with some type of communication. This has generated a small amount of traffic, but right now it feels like I'm pushing a rope. I know "patience, grasshopper". I'm confident that this will pay off eventually, because I'm following the advice of some pretty smart people at MoC & Hubspot.

In addition to the usual methods of employing social media tools to promote, traditional media, live networking, public speaking and teaching opportunities still remain effective ways to find those connectors you refer to.
