I’ve come to a conclusion over the past couple of years that being angry at ignorant and hateful people like Falwell is a waste of energy. People like this, as many of his ilk, just aren’t worth the sweat, honestly. At least half of what they say is said to get attention (or press). The other half speaks to whatever rabid ultra-minority constituency they claim to speak for.

I don’t return hate or venom to these people (although the temptation is there, for sure), and I try not to let their hate affect me. To do so validates their tactics as being appropriate. The way to take power away from people like this is to not absorb their hate and divisive approaches — instead try to lead a life that is a positive influence to your family, you’re community, your country, and your planet.

Yeah.. Falwell.. I feel like we shouldn’t say bad stuff about someone who’s died only a few hours ago.. You know.. you wanna see the good in him.. but the only good I can think of is that sometimes our demons make us strong, so maybe we can thank him for helping us in that way?

Watch now how his people will have the temerity to tar and feather anyone critical of him a “hater”. If so, there will be a critical mass of irony.
